Paul Fairclough's hard working Bees came from behind to extend their unbeaten run of matches to six. Liam Hatch, a second half substitute, was a man on a mission from the moment he stepped onto the pitch. As well as notching the equaliser his controlled aggressive play disrupted any thoughts that Wycombe may have had about cruising to a victory having taken a first half lead.

On a wet surface the ball was moved around at great speed and for Wycombe it all started well. Kicking down the slope they had in Stefan Oakes a midfielder who could spread the play, in Sergio Torres a winger who could create havoc and for large portions of the first half the visitors had periods of dominance.

Lee Harrison had previously saved well from a low drive from Torres but he was helpless when, midway through the first half, a long kick out from the Wycombe keeper Frank Fielding was not cleared and John Sutton was on hand to take advantage as he finished clinically from just inside the box.

The Bees however signalled their reluctance to buckle when Adam Birchall and Puncheon both carved out opportunities for themselves in the first period but Wycombe looked the stronger as the half closed.

Almost immediately on the introduction of Hatch the confusion he caused in the heart of their defence led to Josh Wright striking a good volley that was just too high to trouble the Wycombe keeper.

Hatch's goal was result of a sweet combination with Birchall. He won a flick-on and when Birchall returned the ball into his path he crashed the ball home. Joy.

Barnet were not now content to settle for a point. The Wycombe defence was subject to waves of attacking play with Hatch and the tireless running of Birchall providing a host of problems for the visitors.

With only moments remaining Puncheon pounced to score the winner after his first effort had been thwarted. Naturally Wycombe although somewhat dazed by developments, tried to force their way back into the game but the Bees were in no mood to concede after all the efforts it had taken them to forge ahead.

Boss Fairclough said afterwards that he was immensely proud of his team and that on the back of victories over some very good outfits lately he could definitely sense that the belief within the team was growing.

After two consecutive home matches the Bees must go back on the road and face Stockport County at Edgeley Park this weekend. The players have worked so very hard to achieve three consecutive victories, no doubt they will be undergoing intensive R & R this week to ready themselves for the stern challenge that they will surely face come Saturday in Cheshire.
