Not a sparkling game or performance has to be the analysis of this game. Indeed Hereford United seemed to adapt to the windy conditions better than the Bees and kept procession well, without, it has to be said, testing Jake Cole overmuch in the Barnet goal. Add all that lot up and a nil-nil is more than likely.
Gary Breen was absent with ligament damage, with Clovis Kamdjo partnering Ismail Yakubu in central defence.
In the first half a left footed pass from the right back position, inside the opposing defender, set Albert Adomah away and the winger's cross was only a whisker away from being converted into a goal.
Mark Hughes also played a dangerous ball into the box, but there was not anyone there to take advantage of his good build up play.
Barnet's best attempts in the first half came from a Kenny Gillet free kick from the left which was almost met by Yakubu and from Kamdjo who glanced a header wide from a corner; although neither effort actually tested the keeper.
In the second half a well-timed Kamdjo saving tackle on Gavin McCallum prevented the Hereford forward from getting a strike in on goal and following a good move from the visitors Leon Constantine blazed wide when well positioned.
Thrills and spills were few and far between but post match Ian Hendon remarked that not too long ago Barnet could probably lost a game like this whereas now at least they could claim a point.
He also felt that the performance was some way below that he expected, and he wouldn't be alone in that view!
The Bees are at home again when they host Port Vale on Saturday.
