Ashley played on either wing last season, occasionally in a more central role and in the closing matches of the campaign he even found himself playing at right back.

During the summer the ex Gillingham youngster was asked to join up with the Barbados national squad for their World Cup qualifying stage matches against USA, but he declined the offer to concentrate on recovery from an injury he picked up at the tail end of last season.

Ashley has been pencilled in to start the season in the right back position.
