Brief Directions By Road
I found a nice and straightforward way to get to the ground for our last visit courtesy of the now sadly relocated Al's Tours. Get onto the A12 from either the A406 North Circular Road or the M11 signposted towards Chelmsford. Continue on the A12 until you reach the Moby Dick junction and turn right onto the A1112 signposted Dagenham. Stay on this road crossing over the junction with the A124 and you will eventually see the floodlights on the right hand side. Turn into Victoria Road and the ground is at the end of the road.
Car Parking
There is a large car park for around 140 cars at the ground but this gets full about an hour before kick off. Ample free parking is available in the surrounding streets.
By Train
Take the District (green) Underground line to Dagenham East. Come out of station and turn Left, Victoria Road is about 400 yards and on your left, the ground is a further 100 yards down Victoria Road.
Supporters Coaches
Coach travel to away fixtures this season is being organised by the Barnet Football Club Supporters Association. Prices have been set in a series of 4 bands A,B,C and D depending on the fixture. For further details about supporters coach travel and how to book check out the BFCSA website at www.bfcsa.co.uk. You can also phone the Coach Travel hot line on 01707 647365. This trip has been awarded the Band A price range which is £10.00 for adults and £5.00 Concessions (Under 18's and over 60's). Please remember that you must be a member of the Association to travel - don't worry you can join on the day.
Where To Get A Decent Drink Locally
The Railway is adjacent to Dagenham East Underground and the Eastbrook is a short walk (and on the right) down the Rainham Road. These are both recommended by the club. My choice would be The Bull on Rainham Road (if turning right out of the Underground station away from the ground it is about a 15-minute walk). It offers decent meals too.
The Social Club
We will be made welcome in the Dagenham & Redbridge Social Club. The downstairs bar is where most of the away supporters tend to head and there is a charge of 0.50p at the door.
Ground Description
The main stand or the Carling Stand which replaced the splendid old wooden grandstand runs for 3/4 of the pitch and was completed in the closed season 2001. It is a fairly low front loading structure, which has room for about 800. Its awkward neighbour which occupies the remaining 1/4 of this side is called the Barclay College Stand. To the left is The Ponfield End which is reserved for away fans. The terrace is uncovered and fairly shallow. Opposite is the North Stand, which is a low cover over terracing. To its left is the open Bury Road or Clock end.
