A dedicated volunteer group of more than 20 Barnet FC Supporters are helping distribute a further 10,000 leaflets promoting the cut price season ticket offers.

The BFCSA's Peter Williamson is calling for more volunteers to help distribute the leaflets, even for half hourly stints. Contact him or the committee on info@bfcsa.co.uk.

Wendy Ayre, the recently appointed Barnet FC full time ticket office manager, confirmed today that season sales up to the weekend were close to the 600 mark.

Wendy, who has experience of working in a theatre box office at Potters Bar, has replaced Beverley Bacon, who stood down to enjoy a summer free of football after 15 years service at Underhill to help organise her eldest daughter's wedding and "to enjoy my grandchildren and family".

The bargain seasons ticket offer has been extended to Friday, June 13. The ticket office at Underhill is open daily from 9.30am to 5.00pm daily - telephone 0208 449 6325.

An adult season ticket price for 23 League 2 games at Underhill starts at £199 and Barnet FC points out that any reported comparison with Fulham FC is misleading, unfair and unhelpful to the club - the cheapest ticket at Craven Cottage, which receives its share of the Premiership millions from TV, is £100 more.

The Evening Standard last week reported that Barnet were selling 'the cheapest ticket in town' and a new record number of season ticket holders indicates almost wholehearted approval of the initiative from chairman Tony Kleanthous.

There are 12 more days left to aim for the 1,000 target set by the chairman to make the initiative "really worthwhile".

At £8.50 a game it is surely an offer you cannot resist. That is to say nothing of the fact that for less than a £1 a match an Under 12 can see all Barnet's 23 League 2 matches in the new South Family Stand - the season ticket costing just £20.

Tickets for the annual pre-season friendly against Arsenal on Saturday, July 19, are also on sale now at the ticket office ... plus the two-games-for-the-price-of-one offer for the visits of Leeds United and Watford.
