Dillon Barnes – 2nd Year Scholar
Dillon came from Arsenal FC in 2009, ever since he has made steady progress with Barnet FC. He made a handful of appearances for the Under 21’s in 2012/13 season and was also called up for first team duties. Dillon is an excellent shot stopper, who is very comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Jake Knight – 1st Year Scholar
A powerful centre forward who joined Barnet FC in 2010. JK provides the Youth Team front line with power, strength and a close range scoring ratio that would make any striker happy. JK was the first U16 at Barnet FC to be offered a scholarship and is looking to further his progress this season by continuing to impress both on and off the pitch.
Ishmel Conteh – 1st Year Scholar
Ishmel is a cultured defender for such a young man. Always looking to play and never one to duck out of a challenge, Ish is extremely solid and since signing following his release from Brentford FC in 2011/12 his performances have raised eyebrows, gaining him a scholarship at Barnet FC.
Harry Taylor – 1st Year Scholar
Harry signed for Barnet FC from Chelsea FC due to personal reasons. A solid, tough tackling, hard working defender with good feet and a hunger to win. Harry has a good combination of ability and drive making him a role model for all Barnet FC academy players.
George Berkes – 1st Year Scholar
‘Berkesy’ is a versatile defender who brings a lot to the Barnet FC Youth Team. A good acquisition from Leicester City FC last season where George spent most of the season playing up in the Youth Team as a U16 player. His approach to training and games is ever consistent and his resilience on and off the pitch is going to make Berkesy a good addition to the group.
Keir Dickson – 1st Year Scholar
Keir signed for Barnet FC from Wycombe Wanderers FC in 2010. Ever since he has impressed with his close control and ability to trick his way out of tight situations. Keir is a player that on his day can be un playable leaving even his team mates wondering what he is going to do next…
James Charles – 2nd Year Scholar
‘Charlie’ is a hard working midfielder who can play on the right or in the centre and has occasionally filled in as a right back. Since being signed from Hayes and Yeading FC in 2011/12 Charlie has fitted in well and his hard work ethic found him being called up to the U21’s squad late last year and made a few appearances.
Zach Khlaf – 2nd Year Scholar
Zach joined Barnet FC in 2011/12 season on the back of being with local rivals Watford FC. Zach is an energetic midfielder with the ability to drive at the heart of the opposition. Zach is one to always want the ball at his feet, and his competitive nature makes him an extremely bad loser. Zach’s progress as a first year scholar saw him make a handful of U21 appearances last season.
Moses Duckrell – 2nd Year Scholar
Mo is a striker who possesses electric pace. He was signed as a scholar in 2011/12 from Kingstonian FC. Mo found his first year a tough challenge, however the back end of 2012/13 season saw Moses progress well, scoring goals and assisting on a number of occasions. Mo looks in good shape to carry on his good form into this season and carry on scoring goals for the team.
Alfie Cain – 1st Year Scholar
Alfie signed for Barnet FC as an under 14 in 2009/10, and since signing from Chelsea FC has made a very steady and impressive impact. Extremely adequate technically and comfortable on both feet, Alfie is a creative midfielder. He has a powerful strike, which will challenge many goalkeepers in the coming season.
Alex Shepherd – 1st Year Scholar
‘Shep’ is a centre midfielder capable of being a ball winner and creator all in one. Alex has progressed steadily and his ability to break up play, unlock the opposition with his passing ability combined with his close technical proficiency make him a great addition to the group. Shep signed for Barnet FC in 2009/10 as an under 14 from Crawley Green FC, having previously been with Leyton Orient FC.
Shane Cojocarel – 1st Year Scholar
A small yet extremely explosive midfielder, Shane was signed from QPR FC at the end of 2011/12 season. He made an immediate impact with not only his explosive runs with the ball but also his acrobatic goal celebrations and his technical ability. Since signing as a scholar with Barnet FC in 2012/13 Shane has made two international appearances for Romania U16’s which the club are delighted to support fully.
