Versatile midfielder Mauro Vilhete joined Barnet Football Club in 2009 after moving from Portugal as a youngster
Capable of playing on either flank or at full-back, Mauro became the youngest player ever to turn out in the Football League for Barnet when he made his debut at the age of 16 in May 2010.
Mauro was born in Sintra in Portugal and attended The Ravenscroft School in the shadow of Underhill after moving to England.
Loan spells with Hendon and Boreham Wood (twice) aided Mauro's case for first-team football and he became a regular under Martin Allen as the Bees won the Vanarama Conference title in 2015.
Mauro secured his own piece of history in doing so, scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Gateshead which clinched top spot ahead of Bristol Rovers. It was a feat which saw him crowned Player of the Month for April.
The 2015/16 campaign saw Mauro fall out of favour and he spent time on loan at Boreham Wood before returning to the fold for the start of the 2016/17 season.
Mauro has been in fine form once again during the 2016/17 season, impressing at right-back and on the right-hand side of midfield. His battling, all-action style makes him a fans' favourite at The Hive.
