Eight great goals have been shortlisted for League Football Education’s (LFE) February Goal of the Month prize. The competition features the best goals from Under 18 Academy players at Football League clubs up and down the land.
Watford’s Alex Jakubiak took the honours last month – with his right-footed finish during the Hornet’s 3-2 win over Peterborough in January proving to be the most popular goal with the voting public. The contenders for this month are:
GOAL A: Byron Lawrence, IPSWICH TOWN v Brighton & Hove Albion
GOAL B: Joe Robinson, IPSWICH TOWN v Brighton & Hove Albion
GOAL C: Mathew Jones, SWINDON TOWN v Cheltenham Town
GOAL D: Ben Maund, COVENTRY CITY v Huddersfield Town
GOAL E: Chris Whincop, DONCASTER ROVERS v Hull City
GOAL F: Tanasheh Abrahams, BARNET v Brighton & Hove Albion
GOAL G: Reise Allassani, Manchester United v CRYSTAL PALACE
GOAL H: Jack Maloney, PORTSMOUTH v Peterborough United
LFE Chief Executive, Alan Sykes said: “This competition remains popular with our apprentices, clubs and the general public and continues to showcase the excellent work being conducted across The Football League to develop talented young players.”
