ADAM THOMPSON JOINS BARNET FC ON LOAN

Barnet FC is delighted to announce the signing of Leyton Orient defender Adam Thompson on loan for the rest of the season.

Thompson has made over 230 EFL appearances and played for the Northern Ireland national team.

The defender started his career at Watford FC, where he spent 14 years. While with The Hornets, he would have loan spells at Brentford, Wycombe, Southend United and Barnet FC.

In 2014, Thompson joined Southend United on a permanent deal. The defender would play over 100 games for The Shrimpers and help the club gain promotion from League Two through the play-offs in 2015. Thompson then joined Bury FC, where he would make 70 appearances and again achieve promotion from League Two in 2019.

Rotherham United would be Thompson’s next destination. He would again be involved in a promotion-winning season as The Millers gained promotion from League One before signing for Leyton Orient. The O’s would go on to lift the League Two title and secure Thompson’s fourth career promotion.

Welcome back to Barnet, Adam!

The deal is subject to the usual FA and League clearances.
