Smith started his career at Folkestone Invicta where he scored 13 goals in 19 appearances. That earned him a move to Championship side Millwall in 2016. Following a loan-spell with Swindon Town, Smith signed for Macclesfield Town.

The 6,5ft forward scored 9 goals for The Silkmen in his debut season for the club. He then signed for Northampton Town and helped guide them to Play-Off success in 2020. Smith would feature 16 times in League One the following season. In 2021 Smith then signed for Leyton Orient.
