JOSH KEELEY JOINS THE BEES

BARNET FC SIGN TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR GOALKEEPER

Barnet FC is delighted to announce the signing of Republic of Ireland Under-21 international goalkeeper Josh Keeley on loan from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season.

Born in Dunboyne, Meath, Josh represented St Kevin’s Boys, Shelbourne and Belvedere in his early years before joining St Pat’s aged 15, where he won league titles at Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 levels in their youth set-up.

A regular name on their first team bench from the end of 2020, Josh made his senior debut for St Pat’s against Bray Wanderers in the FAI Cup in July, 2021, before making his league debut against Finn Harps that November.

In the 2021/22 season, he got a taste of the Under-19 UEFA Youth League, featuring in a two-legged tie against Red Star Belgrade.

During his time at the Dublin-based side, he was coached by Patrick Jennings, son of legendary former goalkeeper Pat Jennings.

Josh joined Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the 2022/23 season and after quickly linking up with their first team squad for the Club’s pre-season tour of South Korea, was a regular between the sticks for their Under-21s in the first half of the campaign.

At international level, he has represented Ireland Under-17s and Under-19s, while he was also a late addition to their Under-21s squad for their European Championship qualifiers against Israel in September 2022.

Barnet FC Manager Dean Brennan said,

“Josh will add strength and depth to our goalkeeping department and will give us a different option with his abilities. He is a player we have monitored for at least 12 months and I’m delighted that he decided to join us.”

Josh Keeley said,

“I’m really happy to sign for Barnet. They’re having a great season so far and hopefully I’ll be able to add value to the team. I can’t wait to get started.”

Welcome to Barnet, Josh!

The deal is subject to the usual FA and League clearances.
