Kanu signs for Barnet

Idris Kanu is a Barnet player after today completing a move from Peterborough United Football Club for an undisclosed fee.

Kanu arrives to further bolster Dean Brennan’s attack for the 22/23 season. The versatile 22-year-old joins Barnet as The Bees sit 2nd in the Vanarama National League.

Idris has previously played for Aldershot Town, Port Vale, Boreham Wood and Northampton Town and has proven himself as a threat across the pitch. He can play either out-wide or centrally and joins Barnet as our new No. 11.

The young and exciting player will bring energy to Barnet going forward and has already met up with his new teammates during training on Thursday.

Upon joining Barnet, Kanu said:

“I am really excited to be here and cannot wait to start playing some games.

“I have come here to get goals, assists and to contribute to a winning team – at the end of the season, I hope we can be up there.”

Barnet FC Head Coach, Dean Brennan, said:

“I am delighted to sign Idris – he is a player that will bring plenty to our team and I am excited to see his performances.

“He joins us at a great time and his previous experience will be really welcome.”

It has also been announced that Idris will wear the No. 11 shirt.

Welcome to Barnet, Idris.

The deal is subject to the usual regulatory processes.
