Martin Allen extends contract

Barnet FC are delighted to announce that Martin Allen will be leading the Bees back into the Football League after extending his contract with the club.

Having guided Barnet to the Vanarama Conference title last month, the Head Coach has now put pen to paper on a rolling contract that will see him extend his fourth spell in charge of the club.

Reacting to the news, Martin admitted that he was pleased to have his future sorted and that he was relishing the challenge of the forthcoming season:

“I am pleased that it has all been sorted and I am excited to be taking this group of players onto the challenge of the next level.

“New players will be arriving and our young players I hope will be stepping up. I am sad that a few are leaving as they are and always will be very special to me.

“It would be great if some of those people that came to our last game of the season now give us more backing and support on a regular basis

“It is far too early to set goals and targets and summer recruitment will be key, but I am sure everybody knows that I am not interested in fighting relegation or being mid-table. I am here for the challenge and to create history.”

Meanwhile, Chairman Tony Kleanthous revealed his delight that Martin would be continuing his excellent work at The Hive and stated his belief that with the continued support of the fans everything is now in place for the club to go from strength to strength:

“I am delighted that Martin has chosen to continue working with us here at Barnet FC and build upon the excellent foundations he laid last season. I have backed him in the past and will continue to back him with money to spend on strengthening the team.

“However, what we need most is your backing. Your tremendous support at the end of last season made the difference and your continued support this season can make the difference again.

“We are three times Conference champions, a feat that has never been achieved before and, with the formation of the new National League, this is a feat that will never again be repeated.

“Embrace the new, get behind Martin and the team at The Hive and we can make even more history…..let’s all do this together.”
