MATCH PREVIEW | FOREST GREEN ROVERS

The Bees will be looking to build on from Saturday’s win at Ebbsfleet United but will face a Forest Green Rovers tomorrow night, a side unbeaten in their opening two games so far this season.

Barnet FC:

In our last outing the Bees claimed all three points and a first win of the season away at Ebbsfleet United. Callum Stead opened the scoring in this one just minutes before half time with a finish from inside the box. It was Stead again who doubled the scoring in the second half with a left-footed effort from the right-hand side of the box. Ebbsfleet were handed a very late lifetime after a push in the back allowed Dominic Poleon to grab one back from the penalty spot. This proved to be nothing but a consolation as Barnet took maximum points from Kent.

Barnet FC 2-0 AFC Wimbledon

Forest Green Rovers

Tomorrow’s visitors have endured a bright start to their National League campaign after picking up four points in their opening two games. In their last fixture they ran riot in Lincolnshire, beating newly promoted side Boston United. Christian Dodige with two goals as well as another first half brace from Liam Sercombe secured the points for the Gloucestershire side.

Forest Green Rovers last five results:

Boston United 0-4 Forest Green Rovers

Aldershot Town 3-3 Forest Green Rovers

Royal Wootton Bassett 0-2 Forest Green Rovers

Melksham Town 0-2 Forest Green Rovers

Slimbridge 1-1 Forest Green Rovers

In the opposite dugout:

Forest Green Rovers are currently managed by experienced EFL manager Steve Cotterill who has overseen Rovers since January this year. The former Birmingham, Bristol City and Birmingham boss was unable to guide his side to safety last season as Forest Green slipped out the EFL in back-to-back relegations after being relegated from League One the season prior. Cotterill has managed at this level once before when at Cheltenham Town and he was able to achieve promotion as well as an FA Trophy win.

Ones to watch

Experienced defender Ben Tozer will be one to watch tomorrow evening. The 34-year-old has two successive promotions under his belt with Wrexham after going from the National League to League One in two seasons. Notorious for his ability on a long throw, Tozer can also prove his worth when advancing forward after scoring four goals in his last season in the National League

Last time these two sides met:

This will be the first time these two sides have come head-to-head since 2018 when Barnet defeated Rovers by one goal to nil in League Two. Alex Nicholls grabbed the only goal in this game on the very stroke of half time.
