The Bees made in three wins on the spin with victory over Southend United at the Hive.
Â
Barnet started the game the better of the two sides with a long through ball from defence looking for Callum Stead. The ball just got away from the number ten with Collin Andeng Ndi collecting.
Â
Southend’s first attack of the game was a promising one with a cross from Gus Scott-Morriss meeting Harry Cardwell in the box, but his effort went wide of the post.
Â
Zak Brunt’s corner on the 15-minute mark reached Nik Tavares on the edge of the six-yard box who headed the ball towards goal, his effort went over the bar.
Â
The Bees continued to press when Brunt’s through ball met Mark Shelton who took a shot on first-time, but Andeng Ndi made a good save to deny him.
Â
On the half-hour mark the deadlock was broken when Harry Chapman picked up the ball outside the box before firing a venomous shot at goal and finding the bottom left-hand corner.
Â
Half Time: 1-0
Â
Southend came out in the second half fighting when Oli Coker’s free kick reached Cardwell, but the Southend man could only put his shot wide of the post.
Â
The visitors’ best chance of the game so far came when Scott-Morriss played a cross to Danny Waldron who had a free header in the box, but he couldn’t direct his header towards goal.
Â
Just three minutes later Southend levelled the game up when Scott-Morriss got on the end of a cross to plant an effort into the back of the net.
Â
The Bees didn’t let the equaliser phase them as five minutes later Mark Shelton who won a penalty, scored the penalty to put Barnet back ahead.
Â
Barnet pressed for another and came close when Hall-Johnson’s shot from the right-hand side was well saved.
Â
Zak Brunt nearly made it three when his curling shot from outside the box struck the crossbar.
