NARTEY JOINS THE BEES

Barnet FC are delighted to announce the signing of Richard Nartey on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old joins the Bees ahead of this weekend’s home game against Southend United.

He began his career through the youth setup at Chelsea after joining the ranks at aged nine before rising through the academy until his departure in 2020 to fellow Premier League side Burnley.

The versatile centre back enjoyed a loan spell at Burton Albion in his final year at Chelsea where he went on to make 29 appearances for Albion that season, helping them to a mid-table finish in League One.

Whilst at Burnley he made a brief loan move to Mansfield Town before signing permanently at Salford City in 2022. He made 11 appearances for the Ammies before taking a break from the professional game for one season.

Speaking on his arrival, manager Dean Brennan said, “Nartey is a player we have been tracking for several years.

“He has been in training with us for several weeks, he has impressed us with his natural ability, his athleticism and reading of the game.

“He is a high-class player that will add more strength and depth to our squad.”

Welcome to the Bees Richard!

The deal is subject to the usual FA and League clearances.
