Defender Chiro N'Toko is loving his time at Barnet Football Club
Chiro N’Toko was unable to hide his delight after joining Barnet Football Club.
The defender, who has played the majority of his football in Holland, has been training with the club for three weeks and he revealed that he could not be happier.
The 25-year-old also admitted that is has been a tough six months after suffering a serious knee injury and then being released Den Haag but stated he is now raring to go.
“It has been a very difficult six months because things did not how I wanted them to and like I said I was not playing football.
“I have kept myself fit but it is very different coming back into a club and training with other players, I am not fully match fit but hopefully I will be very soon.”
N’Toko began his career in Belgium with RFC Seraing before moving to Holland at the age of 20 where he played for AGOVV and Den Haag, his time in the Dutch top flight was however marred by injury.
“I last played in the Dutch top flight for Den Haag and whilst they are not one of the top clubs in Holland they are a good club who play in a very good league.
“It was a great experience because there are a lot of good players but unfortunately I suffered a very bad knee injury which meant I could not play as much as I would have liked.”
Despite things not going exactly to plan he does however believe that he can take what he learnt from the Eredivisie and use it to help Barnet.
“Even though we are near the bottom of the table from what I have seen we should not be, I and all of the other players will do our best to make sure we are not there for long.
“I hope that the experience I have gained in Holland can help me help Barnet Football Club achieve good things during my time here.”
N’Toko, who made his debut against York on Saturday, also revealed that he has settled in well and is loving life as a bee.
“I do not know any of the players at the club but I have been here for three weeks now and I have settled in well.
“I am really happy to be here and I am just glad to be doing what I love again and that is playing football.”
N’Toko finished by once again stating his pleasure at joining the club, his desire to work hard and hope that the Bees progress up the league table.
“I am very happy to join Barnet Football Club because it has been a while since I have played regular, competitive football.
“I now want to train hard, play games and help the team progress up the league table.”
