NEW LADIES MANAGER CONFIRMED

5 February 2013

Lydia Bedford will take charge of Barnet Ladies with immediate effect

Barnet FC Ladies are pleased to announce the appointment of Lydia Bedford as first-team manager with immediate effect.

Lydia has been a part of Barnet Ladies since 2007 and played for the club for three-years before linking up with Tracey Kevins as assistant manager for the 2010/11 season.

She has a wealth of coaching experience which extends beyond Barnet having worked as a coach and then Technical Director of the Middlesex FA Girls Centre of Excellent.

Before the start of the 2012/13 season she was given the position of assistant coach for the England Under-15s South EPC camp.

Her success throughout the levels of women’s football continues to be rewarded and only this week she has been asked to be assistant coach for the next England Under-19 camp.

After being confirmed as Kevins replacement Lydia is confident that she can build upon her predecessor’s success and lead the club to further glory.

“Tracey has built a strong ethos of hard work throughout her time at the club and this is something we must continue to build on.

“I am confident that the players will now pull together and fight to improve our performances and gain the points we deserve.”

She is also believes that her knowledge of the club and its current plight will allow her to take charge and have an immediate impact.

“Having assisted Tracey with the Ladies since 2010 I am now looking forward to helping the team through the remainder of this season.

“We have a talented squad, and have been unfortunate with results so far this season but I am confident we can turn it around.”

Director Graham Slyper, who is responsible for Barnet Ladies, has spoke of his confidence in the appointment and believes that Lydia is the perfect choice to lead the club forward.

“We are very fortunate to have had such an experienced and well qualified No.2 who now deserves her chance to step up and take us forward.”
