PRE-SEASON PREVIEW: HENDON FC

Key information ahead of tonight's match at The Hive.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Entry to tonight’s match is FREE for all Bees Members.

• We are also running a Kids for a Quid offer with non-member Adult tickets £5.

• Car parking is £1 so make sure you arrive nice and early to secure your spot and enjoy a pre-match pint in the Amber Lounge. 

• Members who have yet to receive their memberships can collect them from the ticket office. 

•The West Stand will be the only section of the stadium open to supporters. 

INTRODUCTION

• Today’s match will kick-off at 19.15.

• The Bees will be hoping to get back to winning way after losing 0-1 to Ipswich Town at The Hive on Saturday.

• Prior to Saturday’s defeat the Bees had a 100% record during pre-season after wins against St Albans City and Hemel Hempstead Town.

• Despite defeat Edgar Davids’ side impressed and they more than match their Championship opponents.

• Following Today’s match the Bees will face MK Dons at The Hive on Saturday 27th August.

THE OPPOSITION 

• Hendon FC were formed in 1908 as Christ Church Hampstead, they currently play in the Isthmian League Premier Division. 

• The club are currently based in South Harrow at Earlsmead, the home of Harrow Borough FC. 

• The club were crowned European Amateur Champions in 1973 and during the same season they also won the Isthmian League title. 

• In 1976/77 they won the Isthmian League Cup for the first and only time, ten-years later they were runners up. 

MANAGER

•Gary McCann is now into his eighth season as Hendon manager having taken over in February 2005.

• McCann originally joined the club in March 1997 as Frank Murphy’s first signing. 

• He made his debut on March 31st 1997 in a 0-3 defeat to Aylesbury United.

• He went onto make 196 appearances for the club between the sticks and his popularity as a player has continued during his time as manager.
