Manager expecting tough test from Bristol Rovers on Tuesday.Martin Allen says that he is expecting a tough test when his side travel to take on Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Ground on Tuesday night.
Having seen his side secure a hard-earned point away to Woking at the weekend, the manager is hoping that his team can build on what he has no doubt was a positive result:
“We’ve got no injury worries or concerns from Saturday’s game which when looking at the bigger picture was a good point for us with the way that things are against a team with some very good players in it.
“They were looking dangerous for a spell in the second half but we managed to change things around and stop any attempts on our goal so tactically we got it right.
“It is good that we have got players on the bench that can try and help us win the game, and it is good that we have got players on the bench that can help us secure a game.
“It is important when you have got people chasing you and challenging you that you just keep picking up points.
“It is a long, long season. It wasn’t spectacular, it wasn’t Barcelona, but it was a good point for our club.”
With the Bees’ next opponents coming in the shape of recently relegated Bristol Rovers, who currently only sit outside the play-off places on goal difference, Martin is expecting an equally difficult challenge tomorrow night:
“They are a great club with fantastic supporters who are very passionate and love their football. I was gutted for them when they got relegated at the end of last season. It is just a matter of time that they get back up into the Football League.
“I have been down to Bristol a couple of times this season to watch them play and the supporters have stuck with their team. Their energy and enthusiasm will be rewarded.
“They will go back up at some point. It is always a difficult year, the first year after being relegated, but it is a real tough game for us going there to play against them tomorrow.
“It will be a big crowd and a passionate crowd and without a shadow of a doubt we will have to be at our very best to make it a good trip for us.”
