Barnet FC are helping The National Lottery search for a Barnet resident with a winning ticket worth over £1.8m!The National Lottery is hoping that Barnet Football Club’s winning streak will bring some luck to the mystery missing owner of a Lotto ticket, worth £1,804,955 that was recently bought in the London Borough of Barnet.
The Lotto ticket matched five numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto Quadruple Rollover draw on Wednesday 28th January 2015, but the life-changing prize is still yet to be claimed. If the lucky ticket-holder owner comes forward before midnight on Monday 27th July 2015 they stand to win an astonishing £1,804,955!
Barnet winger Keanu Marsh-Brown joined The National Lottery to champion the search yesterday, booting the winning numbers into the back of the net and calling on fans and locals to help find Barnet’s lucky ticket-holder.
Discussing the search for the owner of the unclaimed ticket, the Bees winger said:
“Let’s hope our winning form rubs off and the mystery ticket-holder comes forward for their own winnings.
“It’s a massive amount of money and could really change lives. It’s unbelievable to think that someone is going about their day not knowing that their life could be a whole lot easier. So get searching and remind your family and friends to do the same.
"If I won this money, I’d probably treat myself to the latest Smart car before going on a nice holiday somewhere!”
The National Lottery will also be joining the Vanarama Conference table-topping Bees at their match against FC Halifax Town on Saturday. By giving fans the chance to pose with the massive winner cheque ahead of the game, The National Lottery hopes that the Bee Army at Saturday’s match will help to raise awareness of the unclaimed prize and make the ticket-holder the Borough’s latest winner.
A National Lottery spokesperson said:
“Sitting pretty at the top of the league the Bees are proving to be true winners so we really hope that the team, and their many supporters, will help us find Barnet’s other winner.
“We’re eager to find the mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their fortune. Who knows, maybe they are a staunch Barnet fan and will be sinking a chunk of the win into the club!”
Barnet’s mystery ticket-holder is one of eight lucky winners from the draw on January 28th. Lotto can only roll four times and, as no one matched all six numbers in the Quadruple Rollover draw on January 28th, the prize money was shared between the winners in the next winning prize level (five plus bonus ball) – eight winners sharing a total of £14,439,640.
If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.
The National Lottery changes the lives of individuals as well as communities – players raise on average over £33 million for National Lottery-funded projects every week.
