Academy to start U8s programme!

26 February 2015

The Barnet FC Academy will be running sessions for U8s starting this Saturday.

Barnet FC Academy are delighted to announce the start of an elite U8 programme that will act as a Development Squad for our U9 team during the 2015/16 season.

The programme is designed for high-level young players who are looking for elite coaching in preparation for entry into the Academy system.

The sessions, taken by UEFA qualified coaches currently working within the U9-11 Foundation Phase, start on Saturday February 28th between 09:00 and 10:00 and will run weekly until further notice.

Following our successful Academy curriculum, the training sessions will be fun, fast and challenging with players being taught the key components to prepare them for an Academy environment.

This will include work on agility, balance, co-ordination, speed, ball mastery and technical training.

Given that 95% of neural development is complete by the age of 10-11 years old, the sessions will involve lots of repetition, competition and challenging problem-solving scenarios in order to create repeated patterns of movement and strong neural pathways.

Should players show the attitude, skills and determination to succeed then they will be invited to join the U9 team for the 2015/16 season.

If you are interested in attending, please e-mail your details to Academy Administrator George Kendall at gkendall@barnetfcacademy.com.
