28-year-old striker joins on a two-year deal.

Barnet FC are delighted to announce that Shaun Batt has signed for the Bees on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old striker joins the club after leaving Leyton Orient this summer following two years at Brisbane Road where he played alongside another new signing for the Bees in Kevin Lisbie.

Shaun - whose brother Damian played for Barnet between 2004 and 2006 - also boasts Peterborough United, Millwall and a loan spell with Crawley Town amongst his former clubs.

Speaking to the club’s official website on his decision to join Barnet, Shaun said that he was delighted to have signed and felt that The Hive was the right place for him to be to kick on in his career:

“I’m really happy to have signed. It is a good club with great facilities and I am looking forward to getting some stability back in my career.

“In terms of circumstances it is a great club for me and I knew that it is the right place for me to be.

“The guys had a great year last year and I am more than happy to play a part in what will hopefully be another successful season.”

Meanwhile, Martin Allen said that he was pleased to have bolstered his attacking options with a player who he says has the potential to be ‘a match winner’ for the Bees:

“I’m pleased that we have managed to get in another forward player and if he stays fit then we have got a match winner on our hands.

“When I asked Kevin Lisbie, he said: ‘Get him, he will be a great player for us.’”

“No doubt it will take a bit of time for him to achieve the supreme fitness levels of our players, and Shaun will have to work extremely hard to get to our levels.”
