The Bees manager reflects on the 3-1 victory over York City.
Barnet manager Martin Allen was pleased with his side’s second half showing against York City this afternoon.
Speaking after the game, Martin said:
“It was a difficult first half.
“The wind does play a significant part in games at this ground.
“But we weathered the wind in the first half, and knew that chances would come our way in the second half.
“I think we showed a lot of resilience in the first half, and I thought we played quite well in the second half.
“It was pleasing - it’s good to see all the people who pay their money get value for their money.
“The fans sung with enthusiasm, the players played with enthusiasm.
“If you pay your money, you want some action.
“You don’t graft throughout the week to watch a tame, dull, magnolia performance.
“Today I don’t think it was dull – I thought it was good for our supporters, our players, and good for our whole club I’d say.
“I wanted to freshen it up today, and it was great to be able to give Justin Nwogu his debut.
“Over the next few months I’m sure that there’s going to be more like him.
“But the players who played in our team today put in a good performance.
“I’m pleased for the players, I’m pleased for the supporters and now we go onto the next game on Tuesday night."
