Rossi Eames & Henry Newman: joint statement

1 December 2016

A joint statement from the interim management team of Rossi Eames & Henry Newman...

Barnet’s players arrived at The Hive London this afternoon for a scheduled training session which was led by the interim management team of Development Team coach Rossi Eames and Academy manager Henry Newman.

The duo have worked together at Barnet for a number of years and, speaking this evening, released a joint statement following Martin Allen’s resignation as head coach.

“First and foremost, we would like to wish Martin Allen the very best of luck at Eastleigh. He’s done fantastically in getting Barnet promoted and securing our place in EFL League Two.

“It has been a pleasure to work with him for the last two-and-a-half years and we have learnt a lot from him.

“We took training this afternoon and kept it as simple as possible, without changing anything as there was a session scheduled in.

“We spoke to the players beforehand and we are looking forward to a full week planning for our EFL League Two fixture at Yeovil Town on Saturday, December 10.

“It has been a positive day and we are looking to move forward and doing the best we can.

“We will go to Yeovil Town on Saturday to watch their game against Crawley Town, put a report together and work to prepare the players. We will give the players breathing space over the weekend to take stock.

“It is like the good old days for us as we had success working together and winning the Football League Youth Alliance while Martin’s first team were winning the Vanarama Conference.

“Before that we worked together for several years and we have the perfect balance with Rossi’s background in youth development and Henry as Academy manager.

“The club is in a positive place, evidenced by our position in League Two. As a minimum, we will maintain and build on that while the search goes on to find Martin’s successor.

“We hope Barnet supporters will enjoy the football we’re going to play.”
