Raising cash for charity really is a piece of cake for Barnet Over-50s Walking Football team.
The players took part in Cupcake Day in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, selling cakes after training sessions to realise £105.50 for the cause.
The Bees have also been gaining good results on the pitch, recording a 5-0 away victory at West Ham and then a 6-1 win over Cheshunt, also on the road.
Their next fixture will be at the Walking Football Festival for bowel cancer, which takes place at Powerleague Barnet, Trott Road, on Friday 7th July (11am).
And the Barnet Over-60s Walking Football team are set to take their bow next month at a round-robin tournament in Romford, also involving Watford and Dagenham sides.
