Darnell Smith played 90 minutes for Hungerford Town in a 1-0 defeat by Truro City, while Tom Day played 85 minutes in Hemel Hempstead Town’s 2-2 draw with Welling United.
Smith’s Hungerford side lost 1-0 at home to Truro, despite playing nearly 60 minutes with a man advantage.
Smith was involved in the early stages with the first real incident coming in the 29th minute. A horror challenge by Cody Cooke on Smith saw him receive a straight red, leaving the White Tigers a man down with nearly an hour left to play.
However, the Crusaders couldn’t make their man advantage count and only nine minutes after the sending off, Truro took the lead. A cross into the area was dealt with by captain Rhys Tyler, but could only find the back of his own net.
After several bookings in a very scrappy game, it was inevitable that there would be a second red card. It came late on with Hungerford also being reduced to 10 men after Diak John was sent his marching orders after 87 minutes.
The game finished 1-0 to Truro, consolidating third place in the table. Hungerford remained 17th, making it four losses in a row.
Day played 85 minutes as his Hemel Hempstead Town side drew 2-2 at home against playoff rivals Welling United.
Hemel took the lead after only eight minutes when debutant Antonio German’s first time shot cannoned in off the underside of the crossbar.
The score was 2-0 half an hour later, captain Jordan Parkes converting from the spot after Joe Howe was tripped inside the area.
However, it was a tale of two halves for Hemel as they let their lead slip. The first came in the 54th minute, Tom Bradbrook getting the Wings back into the game.
It was a quickfire double though for Welling, only four minutes later they found their equaliser. Joe Healey with a long-range strike after Hemel keeper Laurie Walker’s clearance.
Day was replaced by Callum Driver after 85 minutes, with the home side bringing on an extra attacker to try and find a winning goal. Unfortunately, the game finished 2-2, with both sides dropping in the table, Hemel now out of the playoff places.
