Community | Rossi casts an eye over Walking Football team training

29 September 2017

Head Coach Rossi Eames surprised our Walking Football team this afternoon by watching their training session and casting an eye on their exciting talent.

It is rumoured that Rossi was looking at potentially bringing one or two of their players into the first team set up in light of recent injuries, including star striker Sid Tobias who is just 82 years young.

Coach Connor Lynch has overseen the growth of the group.

“The sessions are great, they continue to grow and we’re seeing new faces all the time. The guys who attend have lots of fun although they always get competitive during matches.

"Possibly the best part is the social interaction away from the sessions, the guys do a lot together as a group whether it be charity work or attending tournaments. Although the sessions were started to improve health and physical elements, the social aspect is just as important and we welcome anyone who would like to come down and join in”

Run by The Hive Foundation, the Over 50s Walking Football Sessions take place on Thursday evenings (7-8pm) and Friday afternoons (2-3pm). £3 per session.
