Forward Simeon Akinola spoke after netting his second goal in as many games during last night’s 1-1 draw with Sutton United
It was a result that Akinola took as a defeat but the 27-year-old remains positive ahead of Saturday’s visit to Notts County:
“It was a bitter one, it feels like a loss unfortunately. I think we dominated, we had enough chances to put the game to bed and we didn’t unfortunately but at the end of the day, it’s a point and we’re still unbeaten and we’ve just got to continue building from today.
“For the type of football we’re trying to play and for the targets we have this season, I think it’s one of those games where you go 2-0 or 3-0 up and you put the game to bed and you just move on but it wasn’t too be.
“We’re not going to stay too down, there’s another big game on Saturday and we’re going to go again and give our best.
“It’s always good to score as a striker but I was truly hopeful for three points but nonetheless, we’ve got to continue on Saturday and hopefully we can get the three points then.
“We’ve got to take the positives and one of them is that we are creating chances.
“We can’t dwell on this result for too long. It’s a point, it feels like a loss but we move on and go again on Saturday.”
The Bees face Notts County next Saturday with the match kicking off at 17:20 BST, live on BT Sport 1.
