International | Jack Taylor scores as Republic of Ireland are beaten on penalties by Mexico

17 June 2019

Jack Taylor scored from the spot as Republic of Ireland U21's are beaten on penalties in the Toulan Tournament third/fourth place play-off.

It's been a busy few weeks for Taylor away on international duty with Republic of Ireland U21 team.

Earning his first call-up this summer, Jack made his debut for the national team as a second-half substitute against Bahrain, helping the boys in green on their way to the semi-final against an impressive Brazil outfit.

Taylor was used once again as a substitute in the semi-final defeat before earning his full debut in their third/fourth place play-off with Mexico.

Following the 0-0 draw, the tie was forced straight to penalties and Jack made no mistake to dispatch his spot-kick, though his side was eventually beaten 4-3 in the shootout.

Jack's performances in the Toulon Tournament have done the Club extremely proud and we look forward to welcoming him back into training here at The Hive.
