Match Pack: Hartlepool United 2-0 Barnet

26 October 2019

The Bees fell to defeat Nicke Kabamba netted twice to give Hartlepool United all three points on a difficult afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bees started the brighter of the two teams and almost took the lead in the opening two minutes as Cheye Alexander's strike was deflected wide of the post.

However, on six minutes they fell behind as Kabamba swept home after the ball broke to him just inside the box, it was harsh on the Bees who had all the running in the opening stages and looked the better of the two.

Darren Currie's side almost found an equaliser straight away as a quick counter attack fell at the feet of Josh Walker but his effort was blocked away by a Pools defender.

The Bees continued to keep possession and had a number of set pieces but couldn't quite find the opening to trouble 'Keeper Ben Killip.

Andre Boucaud saw an effort blocked when it looked certain to fly into the bottom corner after the ball broke to him from a corner.

On 27 minutes it was two for the hosts as we were punished for making the most of our time on the ball, it was Kabamba again who netted past Loach to double his and his sides tally for the afternoon.

It was harsh on the Bees who were the better of the two teams in the first half but didn't have a goal to show for their work at Victoria Park.

Into the second half and Loach had to be at his best as he denied Kabamba on two occassions with his legs when the number nine rushed through on goal.

It went from bad to worse for the Bees were reduced to 10 men as Jack Taylor was sent off for a second bookable offence.

The red card killed off the Bees chances of a comeback and the hosts kept the ball well and alomst went further ahead as Toure curled towards the top corner but Loach denied him brilliantly.

The Bees had chances through Mason-Clark and James Dunne but again Killip wasn't called into action on a frustrating afternoon for Currie's side.
