The Bees will look to bounce back from consecutive defeats as they host Solihull Moors at The Hive London in the Vanarama National League.
The Moors travel to North London on the back of a confidence-boosting 2-0 win over Stockport County on Tuesday night.
The visitors themselves have only won one of their previous six matches, so both will be after all three points this Saturday.
The Moors currently sit 10th in the Vanarama National League on 17 points, just two points behind the Bees. The visitors are one of those tipped for promotion this season but have struggled for form of late, after they went five games unbeaten at the start of the season.
Solihull Moors enjoyed a successful 2018/19 campaign as they finished second in the Vanarama National League, just two points behind eventual champions Leyton Orient. However, the season ended in play-off disappointment for the Moors as they lost to AFC Fylde in the semi-final. They’ll be hoping to go one better this time around, but they are one of many with similar ambitions.
The Boss – Tim Flowers
Flowers joined the Moors in June 2018 as he replaced Mark Yates who departed for Macclesfield. Flowers achieved a highly successful first season at Damson Park as he secured a second-place finish before just missing out on promotion.
The Moors boss enjoyed a superb playing career as a goalkeeper, he most famously played for the Premier League title winners Blackburn Rovers. He made over 170 appearances at Ewood Park and also featured for the likes of Wolves, Southampton, and Leicester City, finishing with 500 senior outings. Flowers also made 11 appearances for the three lions before retiring in 2002.
Last time out:
The last time that Flowers side visited The Hive London, was an afternoon to remember for the Bees as they ran out 2-0 winners. Wes Fonguck scored two second-half goals to seal the three points on an early autumn afternoon.
Wes will be hoping to get himself on the scoresheet in successive home games when the Moors make the trip down to London this afternoon.
The current Solihull striker, had a spell at The Hive London between 2016 and 2018, most memorably scoring on his debut against Cambridge United. Nicholls went on to make 42 appearances for the Bees, scoring on 9 occasions before being loaned out to Dundee United.
The striker has only made the one appearance for his new club and will be looking to kick on at Damson Park as he aims for a return to the Football League.
