We caught up with Cheye Alexander following his fantastic performance in our FA Trophy triumph over Barrow.
On the game
To be fair, we started very poorly. The first half was a poor game, they were on top throughout, but we knew we had to come out in the second half and work even harder and create more chances and thankfully we did that with the three great finishes!
On scoring the first
I think that’s three this season. My aim was 10, that might be asking a bit too much! I’m on the way though and if I can help the team out by getting a goal, then everyone’s happy and thankfully we are in the next round.
On what changed in the second half
We all knew the first half wasn’t good enough. We knew straight away from the kick-off when we gave the ball away and we knew we had to rectify that. We come out, played with more intensity and worked a lot harder and that showed.
On if the confidence is sky-high
Definitely, 100% and we go again on Tuesday, hopefully, get another win and carry on that run.
On the impact this run can have on the season
Of course, it’s a big boost. Everybody wants to play at Wembley and we’re on the way there and our main focus is to win every game that we play in and the next one is Tuesday, if we can go and win that, then we go onto the next one but we’ll take each game as it comes and make sure we give it our all.
