Match Preview: Solihull Moors (A)

11 February 2020

The Bees return to Vanarama National League action as we head to the Midlands to take on Solihull Moors at the SportNation.Bet Stadium (19:45 KO). Preview in association with LV Bet.

Fixture details:

Solihull Moors vs Barnet

Date and time: Tuesday, 11th February 2020 (19:45 KO)

Stadium: SportNation.Bet Stadium

Competition: Vanarama National League

The Bees

Manager: Darren Currie

Form: WWWWD

Top scorer: Simeon Akinola (16 goals)

The Bees made it 12 games unbeaten on Saturday afternoon when they beat Barrow AFC 3-0 at The Hive London in the last 16 of the Buildbase FA Trophy. That has now set up a tie at home to Halesowen in last eight of the competition, but all eyes are firmly back on pushing towards the National League play-off places. Currie will know that a win against the Moors will take them above tomorrow's hosts.

The Moors

Interim Managers: Gary Whild and James Quinn

Form: DLDDL

Top scorer: Jimmy Ball (8 goals)

The Moors have struggled for form in recent weeks following the departure of manager Tim Flowers. They are without a win in their previous seven matches, their last victory coming at home to Chesterfield on New Years Day. Despite the downturn in form, the hosts sit just two points off the playoff places, knowing a win could see them get back into the top 7. In the Moors last match, they secured a point on the road, as they drew 2-2 with Bromley at Hayes Lane.

Last time we visited the Moors:

It finished two apiece the last time we visited tonight's hosts, as Wes Fonguck and Shaquile Coulthirst netted the goals back in February 2019.

The Bees will be hoping to take all three points back down the M1 this evening and strengthen their grasp on reaching the play-off places.

Stat Attack:

The Bees are unbeaten in all three previous meetings with Solihull Moors. Drawing two and winning one.

Team News

Alfie Pavey:

"Alfie is out on the grass and is training with the team. We are really pleased with his progress and his attitude has been top class. We look forward to having him in and around the squad again soon."

Paul McCallum

"Paul will obviously be ineligible for tonight but he has been absolutely superb in training. He is getting on really well with the rest of the team and his quality and work rate has been tremendous. We really look forward to having him back available for the game Saturday, he will be a big boost for us."
