Darren Currie shared his delight at getting new signing Xander McBurnie in after the midfielder put pen to paper this afternoon.
The midfielder joins the Bees following a three-year spell abroad where he most recently played for Ytterhogdals IK (YIK) in Sweden.
McBurnie came through the ranks at Bradford City before heading abroad but joins his new side ready to prove a point. That drive to succeed in English football was a key factor in Currie wanting to bring him into The Hive London.
"There's a real hunger about him, I like the way he speaks, I like the confidence that he brings. He's certainly shown huge potential in training so we're really excited to get him on board.
"We had some footage of him sent through, we had a look at him and he was prepared to back himself and train with us for a couple of weeks. He's really impressed in the training"
The 22-year-old will be keen to hit the ground running and help fire the Bees up the table as we remain in the play-off hunt.
After the recent departure of Jack Taylor, replacing goals from midfield will be key for the Bees and McBurnie's new boss has every faith that he can deliver the goods.
"There's potential in there and as much I think he can add to us in the near future as well, this is something that we can develop and turn him into the next type of Jack Taylor where can have an impact on the squad going forward.
"He's the type of signing that going forward for me will hopefully bring not only something to us immediately but over a longer period of time as well. We think that we can turn him into a really good player."
