The Bees

The Bees head into this fixture on the back of two draws over the festive period and are now undefeated in their last six.

In the most recent fixture against local rivals Boreham Wood, Darren Currie's side created chances but were unable to break the deadlock and had to settle for a draw on the day.

Barnet will look to this fixture knowing that three points will bring them closer to reaching the desired play-off places.

The Opposition

The Shaymen currently sit ninth in the table and just three points above the Bees having played one more game.

Pete Wild’s side only managed a 0-0 draw in their last fixture against Stockport County which was much improved on the reverse fixture a week earlier where they lost 5-1.

Much like Barnet, FC Halifax are on the cusp of reaching the play-offs with numerous other sides and will also be looking to take that one step closer to the top seven.

The Gaffer: Pete Wild

Wild was introduced to the world of football playing at the amateur level until when at 18, he took up coaching. He was appointed by Oldham Athletic where he worked for 10 years before being made interim manager in 2018.

He accomplished a famous FA Cup win over Fulham in that time before stepping down, only to be reappointed as permanent manager in March 2019, but stepped down in May 2019 whereafter he was appointed by the Shaymen.

One to Watch: Liam McAlinden

Liam McAlinden is FC Halifax Towns top goal scorer this season and has apparently caught the eye of a number of football league sides.

The 26-year-old started his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers where he was loaned out to Shrewsbury Town, Fleetwood Town and Crawley Town. He eventually signed for Exeter City, but again, was released and picked up by Cheltenham Town who loaned him out to Brackley Town and Kidderminster Harriers.

At the beginning of the 2019/20 season, McAlinden signed for FC Halifax Town and has scored 10 goals this season.
