Match Preview: Solihull Moors (H)

2 April 2021

The Bees host The Moors on Good Friday as they kick off a busy Easter weekend at The Hive London. Preview in association with LVBet.

FIXTURE DETAILS:

Barnet FC vs Solihull Moors

Friday 2nd April, 15:00

The Hive London

Vanarama National League

THE MOORS

League Position: 17th (P28 W10 D5 L13)

Last Result: Solihull Moors 3-0 Wealdstone (Tuesday 30th March 2021)

Manager: Jimmy Shan

Club Captain: Kyle Storer

Solihull recorded their first back to back wins in the league since October on Tuesday evening, with a convincing 3-0 win over our local rivals Wealdstone. Before the game in midweek, the Moors were having a torrid 2021 with only three wins out of a possible 17 in all competitions which really hit any chance of a playoff push, although they only find themselves ten points behind, emphasising the unpredictable nature of the Vanarama National League.

Only two of their ten wins this season have come away from home and they will be looking to make a change to that on Friday when they make the trip to London.

Compared to last season where they just missed out on the play-off places, this season has been poor from the Moors and they will be looking to finish as strongly as they can in order to build for next season.

THE BEES

The Bees will be looking to put in a much better display than the one from last weekend, where they found themselves 3-0 down away to Yeovil Town after only 35 minutes played, as they lost the game 3-1, with Themis Kefalas grabbing his first goal for the club, which unfortunately was merely a consolation.

The defence has been the main cause of concern in recent games, with avoidable mistakes a theme which the Bees will have to work on getting out of their game, having conceded eleven in their last five games. This job should be a little easier against their opponents who have found goals hard to come by having only 30 goals to their name for the season so far, with star striker Adam Rooney struggling for goals.

Gary Anderson will once again take charge of proceedings, as the search for a new manager continues.

LAST TIME AT THE HIVE:

The Bees and the Moors played out a goalless draw the last time the sides met in North London.
