FIXTURE DETAILS:

Barnet FC vs Woking FC

Saturday 20th February, 15:00

The Hive London

Vanarama National League

THE CARDS

League Position: 18th - 23 points (P20, W5, D6, L9)

Last result: Wrexham AFC 2-0 Woking FC - Tuesday 16th February

Manager: Alan Dowson

Club Captain: Josh Casey

Alan Dowson's side make the short trip to North London in a run of wretched form that has seen them go without a win in seven matches. That run stems back to December 12th where they picked up all three points on home soil against promotion hopefuls Hartlepool United. Whilst the Cards have been strong at The Laithwaite Community Stadium, their form on their travels has been anything but, with their last victory away from home coming against the bottom of the table Dover Athletic. Dowson's side fell to another away defeat on Tuesday night, as they lost out 2-0 to Wrexham in North Wales. The Cards will be targetting their trip to The Hive as a chance to return to form, meaning the Bees will have to be on their guard, in what is set to be an open affair.

Woking were on fire when the Bees made the trip to Surrey, as they hammered Peter Beadle's side despite having ten men for over an hour of the match. That was a bleak afternoon, so Tim Flowers' men will be hoping to right some of those wrong on home turf. Despite things not going to plan at the moment, Dowson's side plays football in an effective way and have a squad filled with dangerous players, as they showed in the reverse fixture back in November. The Cards look to get on the front foot and will hope to try to take the game to the Bees, who will be buoyant from ending their poor run of form in midweek.

The Bees:

What a difference a win can make! The Bees finally returned to winning ways on Tuesday evening, as they put in a determined performance to grind out a 2-1 win over FC Halifax Town. First-half goals from Michael Petrasso and Anthony Wordsworth set the Bees on their way to a vital victory, now they have the task of picking up back-to-back victories for the first time in this campaign. Flowers' side has improved week by week, leading to that win on Tuesday night and the confidence will be high as they return to The Hive for the second time this week. There is added motivation for the Bees, in the fact that they can move to within three points of Kings Lynn Town, the team they'll next face after Saturday's meeting with the Cards.

The work of Gary Anderson and the rest of the backroom team clearly came to the forefront on Tuesday night, in a performance where the Bees did not stop running throughout the 97 minutes. They'll have to dig into those energy reserves again if they are to get another positive result on home soil. With Michael Petrasso leading the way on seven goals so far this campaign, the Canadian international will be looking to continue his own fine individual form since he returned from injury last month.

Team News:

Harry Taylor will miss the fixture with Woking after he picked up his 5th yellow card of the campaign in Tuesday night's win. Other than that, it appears there are no fresh injury concerns for the Bees heading into the match with Dowson's side.
