Welcome to Barnet, Tomi Adeloye

24 February 2021

Barnet Football Club are pleased to have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of striker Tomi Adeloye on a short term deal.

Adeloye has played for a variety of Clubs and has experience at National League level, featuring for the likes of Dagenham and Redbridge, Hartlepool United and Ebbsfleet United.

The 25-year-old striker has most recently been playing his football up in Scotland for East Kilbride but makes the move South of the border to return to National League Football.

The 6"2 striker started his career as a youth product at Charlton Athletic, before making a move to fellow South Londoners Millwall. A spell at Stoke City followed, where he featured in the Premier League 2, scoring on two occasions from his eight appearances in the 2014/15 season.

Since then Adeloye has spent the vast majority of his career at non-league level, finding the net at National League North/South level for the likes of FC United of Manchester, Whitehawk, St Albans City and Altrincham. He then made the step up to National League level playing for Hartlepool United, Dagenham and Redbridge and finally Ebbsfleet United in the 19/20 campaign, where he netted on three occasions in a disrupted season. Speaking on the arrival of Adeloye, Manager Tim Flowers said:

"Tomi is a player who has been on my radar for a little while now, I was set to sign him up at Macclesfield and he scored in a couple of friendlies up there, so I know he is a good kid. He has a good footballing CV and knows this level really well, so he won't take too much time to adapt. He offers us a bit more selection upfront and adds some more competition for places at the top end of the pitch, so I'm hopeful he'll be able to hit the ground running.

"We obviously brought Courtney (Baker-Richardson) in and he's slowly feeling his way back to fitness, but is improving game by game.  Along with the other options we already have in the attacking area's, I felt it was important to bring in another body who can hopefully add goals to the team going forward."

The deal will be subject to international clearance and the usual regulatory processes. Tomi will wear the number 21 during his time with the Club.
