It has been quite the positive season for Altrincham, in what is their first back in the National League since 2016. Even though a lot of the teams around them in the league at the moment have a number of games in hand, it is still a great achievement for the Robins to find themselves in the play-off places at this stage of the season.

However, their form since Christmas has shown a slight dip for the Greater Manchester side, having not won any of their last four games, though only one of those ended in defeat when up against fellow play-off hopefuls Halifax Town.

They are the only side in the top 14 of the league to have a negative goal difference, emphasising their inconsistency both in front of goal and defending the goal, something that Tim Flowers may look to expose.

THE BEES

Despite the recent lack of games for the Bees, having missed fixtures against Boreham Wood, Yeovil and Aldershot, there has been much to be positive about behind the scenes ahead of Saturday’s match.

There has been some new backroom staff at the club in order to help the fitness in the team. As well as this, the Bees have welcomed three new additions to the club, in the form of three new centre backs. The side has welcomed Liam Daly from Gloucester City, Ben Richards-Everton from Bradford City and a player from the Championship in the form of QPR’s young prospect Themis Kefalas on a short term loan.

Tim Flowers will be hoping that this can help to rejuvenate the team ahead of what will be a busy period, including rescheduled matches. The team will be boosted by the news that JJ Hooper and Michael Petrasso will be back amongst the squad.

LAST TIME WE MET:

The last meeting between the two sides came back in the 2014/2015 season when the Bees recorded a convincing 3-1 win away to the Robins.
