FIXTURE DETAILS:

Eastleigh FC vs Barnet FC

Saturday 15th May, 2021, 15:00 KO

Silverlake Stadium

Vanarama National League

THE SPITFIRES:

League Position: 10th (P37, W15, D11, L11)

Last Fixture: Torquay United 3-1 Eastleigh (Saturday, May 1st)

Manager: Ben Strevens

Top Scorer: Tyrone Barnett (10 league goals)

Ben Strevens side come into the clash with the Bees knowing it is a must-win match on home soil. As the season enters it's climax Eastleigh must secure all but maximum points to ensure that they finish the season in the top seven and in those National League play-off places. The Spitfires may have lost to automatic promotion hopefuls Torquay last time out but they are very strong on their home ground, beating fellow promotion contenders Notts County and Sutton United in their previous two matches. Strevens side of course dismantled the Bees on the opening day at The Hive London as four second-half goals saw the Spitfires run away 5-1 winners on a bleak afternoon in North London. Since then they have been in contention for the vast majority of the campaign and now enter this do or die stage of the season which will make or break their ambitions for the season.

One to Watch: Ben House

Ben House has been a standout performer for Ben Strevens side so far this term, notching nine goals in The National League in an impressive campaign. The striker signed for the Hampshire side ahead of the campaign and has played a pivotal role in the Spitfires side. House previously spent time with Dagenham and Redbridge, as well as Championship side Reading. He'll be hoping he makes it into double figures for the season when the Bees arrive at the Silverlake Stadium.

THE BEES

After an impressive display in their last away game, the Bees will be hoping to put another solid shift on the road against the Spitfires. The Bees were swept aside in their previous match as a rampant Notts County side took control in the second half after an even opening 45 at The Hive London. In terms of quality of opposition, the trip to Eastleigh provides Simon Bassey's men with another tough task against promotion hoping opposition, the Bees will have to dig deep and be resilient against an Eastleigh side who have plenty to play for. Since Bassey's arrival as First Team Coach the Bees have won two of their four away games, losing just the one at the hands of league leaders Sutton United, Bassey clearly has his side well drilled away from The Hive London and he'll be hoping for similar character at the Silverlake Stadium.
