Canadian loanee Michael Petrasso has today (Friday) returned to his parent Club, York United FC ahead of the new Canadian Premier League season.
Petrasso has had quite the impact since joining the Bees and looks set to finish the season as our top scorer with ten goals in all competitions, including a dramatic double on his debut against Leiston in The FA Cup.
The winger has been a real bright spark for the Bees during his time with the Club and has been very much respected by all the players and staff at The Hive London, as well as being a firm fan favourite despite games taking place behind closed doors.
At the request of his parent club, we have allowed Michael to depart slightly ahead of schedule so he can fulfil COVID quarantine restrictions in Canada, before joining up with his team ahead of the new campaign which kicks off in June.
Speaking on his departure from the Club, Petrasso said:
"I firstly want to say thank you to the players and staff for making me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived. I truly had an amazing experience with the Club and I greatly appreciate all the support I have received from the fans, my only regret is that I didn't get to play in front of them more.
"I wish nothing but the best for the Club moving forward and I will always cherish the time I spent here. Me and my family will now always be Barnet fans from across the pond in Canada!"
Everyone at Barnet Football Club would like to thank Michael for his efforts during his time with the Club and we wish him every success for the future.
