An experienced Frenchman, Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro is a name known by many Football League fans, most notably as part of the squad that saw Shrewsbury promoted to League One in 2015 to which he contributed nine goals. Over 400 appearances for Rochdale, Tranmere, and Toulouse in Ligue 1 to name a few shows why Barnet decided to sign him in the summer of 2016.
The 32-year-old got off the mark for The Bees soon after he signed, scoring on his home debut versus Accrington Stanley. However, Akpa Akpro struggled for form which saw him loaned out to Yeovil Town for the remainder of the season on transfer deadline day in January 2017.
On his return this season he got off and running immediately, scoring in the first game of the season against Forest Green Rovers, something Akpa Akpro will be hoping to keep up throughout the campaign. With 27 games for the club last season, Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro will be hoping to regain form and make sure he’s playing regularly again.
