Entering his second season as Barnet Captain, Michael Nelson is one of the most experienced players in the Football League. The 37-year-old Veteran extended his contract at the beginning of the season, also becoming a coach with the Under-23 in a dual role.
After playing for the likes of Norwich, Scunthorpe, and Hibernian, he racked up over 600 appearances before stepping a foot through the door of The Hive London. He signed for The Bees from Cambridge United in August of 2015 after helping them steer clear of relegation the season before.
Looking to strengthen after promotion from the Conference, Nelson slotted into the back line with ease, making 32 appearances in the process, one of the main reason he was made Club Captain at the start of the following season.
With a wealth of knowledge and understanding, Nelson will not only be looking to lead the team on the pitch but help in creating a new generation of talent off it.
