Latvian goalkeeper Rihards Matrevics arrived at Barnet on a two-year deal in the summer of 2018 following a successful trial period with the club.
The youngster kick-started his career by spending nine years at SK Babite before moving to London, signing for West Ham United. After becoming a regular U18 starter for the Hammers, Matrevics was awarded his Premier League 2 debut for the U23 side last season.
The shot-stopper has also represented Latvia at U17 and U19 level, accumulating 22 caps for his country before receiving a call-up to the U21’s in April.
Matrevics showed positive signs during pre-season and will be aiming to give fellow ‘keeper Mark Cousins as much competition as possible for a spot between the sticks this season.
