Transfer | Josh Walker signs for Barnet FC

Walker’s career began in the youth setup at Tottenham before making the cross-capital switch to Fulham.

At Fulham he progressed right through to the Under 23’s, making regular appearances in Premier League 2 throughout the 15/16 and 16/17 seasons.

He had a loan spell at Wealdstone during his final year at Fulham and following his release from the Cottagers, he joined Hendon in September 2017.

He made 42 appearances for the Greens last season, scoring 17 times.

Walker has been at the club in a trialist capacity for a number of weeks and has featured in our matches against West Bromwich Albion, Queens Park Rangers and Ipswich Town.

Speaking after Saturday’s game, manager John Still had this to say on his performance.

“For his first start at the club, Josh was absolutely exceptional. He was quick, he was strong and he was brave. He wasn’t afraid to take people on and he showed his pace.

“I was absolutely delighted with him and I’m really happy to have him here.”

Walker, who will take the number 22 shirt, has made clear his intentions for the season ahead.

“Last year at Hendon I did quite well, now I’m here and I want to push on and show everyone what I’m capable of going to the next level.

“There’s a step up but I think I’m ready and hopefully we can get back into the League.”

Welcome to Barnet, Josh!
