ACADEMY AT UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL

19 players and three coaches from Barnet’s youth academy were part of the UEFA Champions League Final at Wembley on Saturday.
The Bees were selected to take part in the prestigious opening ceremony in front of a crowd of over 90,000 people.
The youngsters held the UEFA Star Ball flag on the centre circle as the Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund players entered the pitch as the official theme rang out throughout the world.
They then watched the game before retaking their place on the pitch post-match to unveil a huge Bayern crest as the trophy was presented to captain Phillip Lahm following a 2-1 Bayern win.
In a truly absorbing match between two Bundesliga giants the Bavarians came out on top with Arjen Robben, who missed a penalty in last season’s final, scoring the winner in the last minute of normal time.
