Acheampong Joins Ebbsfleet United

Anthony Acheampong has joined Ebbsfleet United for an undisclosed fee.

The Conference south are not affected by the transfer window and the 23-year-old put pen to paper at 10.30 this morning.

The defender joined the Bees in June 2013 following a superb campaign with Welling United that led to the Wings earning promotion to the Conference Premier.

Acheampong, who has also featured for Paul Fairclough’s England C side, made 21 appearances during a six month spell at The Hive scoring one goal against Wrexham in a 1-1 draw.

Despite this the defender found first-team opportunities limited due to the impressive partnership formed by Jack Saville and David Stephens.

Fairclough was instrumental in bringing Acheampong to the club and the Director of Football wished the defender luck as he begins a new chapter in his career.

"Anthony is a very good player and a fantastic person. I’m sure he will go on to enjoy a successful career at Ebbsfleet United and beyond.

"Barnet play a very refined brand of football and it is unfortunate that Anthony didn’t fit in the way we planned but make no mistake he has tremendous ability.

"We will all remember his terrific goal against Wrexham live on BT Sport and like everyone at the club I wish him nothing but the best of luck moving forward."

Everybody at Barnet FC would like to wish Anthony the best of luck with the Fleet and we look forward to seeing him develop and succeed at Stonebridge Road.
