An update on Aymen Azaze

The Barnet FC Academy Graduate goalkeeper collided with a Sutton United players boot when coming out to collect a ball and in a complete accident received a blow to the side of his face.

Azaze was treated on the pitch for a number of minutes before being stretchered from the field, before being taken to a local hospital.

Scans have shown that the young ‘keeper has suffered various fractures in the side of his face and cheekbone. Azaze is also suffering from a concussion from the incident, however he has been out of bed and talking throughout the day and he remains in good spirits.

Azaze will remain in hospital to undergo further scans and medical examination at this time and is in constant contact with the Clubs medical team, whilst a family member is at the hospital.

On Aymen’s behalf, the Club would like to thank Bees fans and Sutton United supporters who have sent in well wishes, we will provide a further update on the full extent of the injury in due course.

Everyone at Barnet Football Club’s thoughts are with Aymen, we wish him a speedy recovery and swift return to action.
