BARNET 0-0 DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE

Kyle De Silva was harshly sent off two minutes from time as Barnet drew 0-0 with Dagenham & Redbrigde at Underhill.

The Daggers created the best chance of the match when Graham Stack tipped Medy Elito’s volley onto the crossbar with Jake Hyde going closest for Barnet.

The Bees woes continued after the final whistle with Barry Fuller receiving a straight red card following an altercation with the referee.

The first chance of the match, if you can even call it a chance, fell to Ben Strevens whose flick looped into the arms of Stack.

Shortly after referee awarded the first card of the game when Matthew Saunders was booked for a late challenge on Jon Nurse.

The Bees first real chance came with 29 minutes played when Hyde headed wide from Mark Byrne’s cross.

With five minutes of the half to play Hyde forced a good save from John Miles after Elliot Johnson’s poor shot fell at his feet.

Just one minute of added time was awarded at the end of a lackluster first-half with the general consensus being that things could only get better.

Both sides made tentative starts to the second-half with Miles hesitantly gathering a Byrne shot before Stack almost played Stephens into trouble.

The away side also had claims for a penalty but the referee waved play on after Tom Flanagan appeared to handle in the box.

Toni Silva almost opened the scoring after 52 minutes but the former Liverpool winger’s shot curled just wide of the post.

The Bees did however respond well with Davids shooting over before Barry Fuller cut inside and shot straight at Miles.

With 20 minutes to play Stack made a sensational save to tip the ball onto the crossbar from Elito’s 30-yard volley.

Neither side created anything to test their opponent in the latter stages of the game and De Silva’s red card effectively ended the contest. Fuller was also shown a straight red card after the final whistle.
